World Soil Day is celebrated on 5th December to create an awareness among the people about the importance of soil as existence of human life is majorly dependent on the it. FAO report warns that soil pollution poses a worrisome threat to agricultural productivity, food safety, and human health, but far too little is known about the scale and severity of that threat.
Soil pollution often cannot be visually perceived or directly assessed, making it a hidden danger with serious consequences. According to MEDELLIN, COLOMBIA more than 75 percent of Earth’s land areas are substantially degraded, undermining the well-being of 3.2 billion people, according to the world’s first comprehensive, evidence-based assessment.
IT ALL STARTS WITH ROOTS
